 Too busy to rest… that was Shine Morrison. She had become a “doing” machine. But exhaustion was shutting her down. In an effort to compensate for an absent father and fear of abandonment, Shine had learned how to hide behind doing all the right stuff for the wrong reasons. The fear of rejection nurtured immunity to authenticity. “To avoid conflict I became addicted to doing what seemed like the right thing to do. My activity only created more internal stress and condemnation that left me with a poor self image,” says Shine Morrison. “I’ve been learning that His plan for me begins with my willingness to slow down and rest in Him.”

Morrison brings a musical message of rest to those imprisoned by working for their identity. Her disarming demeanor helps others see that being genuine doesn’t have to be hard work. “My desire is for people to leave a concert with a willingness to trust the Lord for what really needs to be done,” says Shine. “It’s the partnership, not our work ethic, that dictates spiritual growth. I am learning to embrace my emotions instead of avoiding them through activity.”

Morrison’s music is richly influenced by her Japanese culture. She has a delicate voice and delightful personality. Combined with her moving testimony, it makes for a concert full of joy and celebration.
